LucidDbOlap - Can not load the sample data via RMI

Franck Zaire
hi,

I was having problem to load mondrian sample data (mondrian-3.1.6) in
Lucid (luciddb-0.9.2) using RMI JDBC drivers on Ubuntu 10.4. I was
following the procedure at:

http://pub.eigenbase.org/wiki/LucidDbOlap

while trying to load the data, i was getting the following error:

$ java -Xms500m -Xmx500m -cp $CP -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.xml
mondrian.test.loader.MondrianFoodMartLoader -tables -data -indexes
-inputFile="demo/FoodMartCreateData.sql"
-jdbcDrivers=com.lucidera.jdbc.LucidDbRmiDriver
-outputJdbcURL="jdbc:luciddb:rmi://localhost:5034"
-outputJdbcUser=FOODMART
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger
(mondrian.olap.MondrianProperties).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
log4j:WARN See http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/faq.html#noconfig for
more info.
Main error
java.sql.SQLException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.doConnect(AbstractPlainSocketImpl.java:310)

        at java.net.Socket.<init>(Socket.java:392)
        at java.net.Socket.<init>(Socket.java:206)
...

Could somebody tell me how to fix this issue?

For the time being, I have managed to load the sample data using the
Http JDBC driver. My load command was:

java -Xms500m -Xmx500m -cp $CP -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.xml
mondrian.test.loader.MondrianFoodMartLoader -tables -data -indexes
-inputFile="demo/FoodMartCreateData.sql"
-jdbcDrivers=com.lucidera.jdbc.LucidDbHttpDriver
-outputJdbcURL="jdbc:luciddb:http://localhost" -outputJdbcUser=FOODMART

Kind Regards,
Franck Zaire

Frank,

The class/driver you're using isn't correct for LucidDB 0.9.2.  The page indicated had the "< 0.9.2" driver class/url.  I've updated the page with the 0.9.2+ information.

classname: org.luciddb.jdbc.LucidDbClientDriver
and
url: jdbc:luciddb:http://localhost

Let us know if that sorts if out for ya!

Nick
